As
I sit to write this article, I become both sickened and angered at the
content of this story. There are no words to express the lack of
humanity that apparently exists in some people.
It has come to our attention that a very brave individual named,
Victoria Goss, needs our help. Victoria is from Athens, Ohio and is the
owner and operator of the Last Chance Corral. Victoria has been involved
with the rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted, abused and injured
horses for many years.
Recently Victoria has been steadfastly working to save foals from
slaughter. Yes folks Foals!!! Foals have become the source of pony
leather, which is used in the manufacture of shoes and handbags. These
babies, some as young as a day old, are taken from their mothers and
crammed into large holding pens, while they await slaughter.
To date, Victoria has rescued 79 foals. Aiding her in the rescue has
been James B. Towle, president of Rio Vista Products. In addition to
their financial support, Rio Vista provided products and Richard Shrake
Grooming Kits to the new owners of the adopted foals. Some of the foals
that have been adopted have gone to programs designed for children with
special emotional and physical needs.
Please find it in your hearts to help Victoria in anyway you can.
