Fossil
Rock Arabians is located in the Southeastern Finger Lakes
region of New York State, approximately 40 miles from
Syracuse. Our primary focus is to breed Arabians with
intelligence, athletic ability and wonderful dispositions.
Our breeding program has been predominately crossing Polish/Crabbet
lines to produce lines with natural impulsion and
willingness.
We have achieved several Regional Championships and
numerous Class “A” Championships in English Pleasure,
Country English Pleasure, Country Pleasure Driving,
Hunter Pleasure and Halter. Our most recent win was PB
Gelding AOTH with Top Five Honors going to EJ Exotik.
Our breeding philosophy is that all our breeding prospects
must demonstrate willingness and train ability under
saddle before being bred. “I feel willingness is a key
link between horse and rider”, says Linda. In the
majority of instances our horses demonstrate the
aforementioned qualities in the show ring.
It has been our life-long dream to own a horse farm and
raise beautiful Arabian horses. Linda has been riding
horses since she was 10, she saved her allowance to
afford riding lessons at a nearby stable. Her first
instructor was a wonderful gentleman by the name of
Morris O’Connor. “He had a wonderful way with horses”,
stated Linda. He has always stood out in Linda’s mind as
a person great with students and horses.
After college, Linda went to England to work in London as
a clerical assistant. On the weekends, she rode at a
riding academy just outside London, she was the
assistant to the schools instructor.
Johars Highroller (Bakkarat x Rus-Winns Werena) a pure
Polish stallion has many of the qualities we desire in
our breeding program. He has been crossed successfully
with Polish, Crabbet and American lines. “Roller” is a
Sweepstakes Nominated Sire. His show record speaks for
itself with US National Top Ten Park, East Coast
Champion Park and numerous Regional and Class “A”
Championships. He has the heart, strength and gentle
disposition that he has passed onto his offspring.
One of “Roller’s” recent successful offspring is BW
Daytimer. “Daytimer” was Region 16 Top Five English
Pleasure Junior Horse and Champion English Pleasure
13-17. He is a powerfully built stallion who
demonstrates a willingness to please in the showring.
Another offspring is “FRA Topez” (x Crystal Safire) a
1996 bay filly with 4 white socks that will make a
flashy Hunter Pleasure, Show Hack or Dressage prospect.
She has the size and ability to be very competitive in
the Open Hunter Division - she will debut in 2000.
Thank you for allowing us to share our facility with you
and look forward to speaking to you in the future.
